The ERP Go-Live

Lead the payroll side of a VAR-led Acumatica Construction Edition implementation at Orca Bay Mechanical, a Tacoma mechanical contractor.

You're the implementation manager at a construction-payroll software company. Your new account came through an Acumatica partner that is implementing the ERP at the same time, so every decision has two customers: the client who signed and the partner who decides whether there's a next deal. Eight stages run from the handoff to day ninety.

What you'll practiceScoping with a co-implementer, one plan across two lanes, system of record, engineering gaps, tenants and toggles, field mapping, UAT with the VAR, the go/no-go, and the ninety days after go-live.
Built forImplementation managers, project managers, VAR consultants, and customer-success leads on ERP and payroll rollouts.

How the games work

Teach, then test. Nothing is a trick question; every decision is about whether you apply the rule you were just shown.

1

Learn the rule

Before each decision your manager hands you a one-card Field Guide: the rule, why it exists, and what it usually costs when it's missed.

2

Make the call

A character brings you the situation. You pick one of three options: one is the best call, one is defensible, one is expensive.

3

See the outcome

Your health, XP, trust, and the clock move with every choice. Clear a stage at 70% to earn its badge; finish for a decision-by-decision debrief.

Using these for onboarding? Send new hires the link. The end-of-game debrief lists every decision, what they chose, the best call, and the rule, so a manager can review it in five minutes.
Save and hand off. Progress autosaves in the browser. SAVE .JSON downloads a run you can load on another machine or send to a trainer. Sound is optional and off by default.

Training content only; not legal, tax, or accounting advice. Companies, people, and dollar figures in the games are fictional or illustrative, and state rules vary. Quotes and situations are drawn from real construction payroll and ERP implementations with every name changed.
